'Ant-Man' Moved Up From November to July 2015 Release

The Edgar Wright-directed superhero movie is now due on July 31 after initially planned for a November 6 release.

AceShowbiz - "Ant-Man" is coming to theaters five months early than the original schedule. On Monday, September 9, it was announced that the latest installment of the Marvel Superhero Cinematic Universe had been moved up for a summer 2015 release. It was originally due November 6, but is now planned for July 31.

It means that "Ant-Man" will be released just two weeks after "Man of Steel 2", from rival company DC Comics, is out. The sequel to "Man of Steel" which will explore Batman vs. Superman crossover is set for July 17. Henry Cavill will be back as the titular hero, and Ben Affleck is cast as the Dark Knight.

Those two films will be preceded by another Marvel potential blockbuster "Avengers: Age of Ultron". The follow-up to 2012's box office hit "The Avengers" that brings together the Earth's Mightiest Heroes is scheduled for May 1. "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" and Pixar's "Inside Out (2015)" are due out in the same season as well, bringing a total of four summer releases for Disney.

"Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" helmer Edgar Wright is confirmed to direct "Ant-Man". The filmmaker will reunite with Joe Cornish, his co-writing partner in Steven Spielberg's "The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn", to pen the screenplay. No official cast is announced for the project.
