The 'Boston Legal' actress and the 'Beethoven' star will appear on 'The Michael J. Fox Show' in a guest/recurring-role capacity.

AceShowbiz - "The Michael J. Fox Show" has added two veteran actors to its cast ensemble. The show casts Candice Bergen and Charles Grodin in guest/potential recurring roles as Michael J. Fox's mother and father respectively.

Bergen is best known for playing the title character on sitcom "Murphy Brown" and Shirley Schmidt on comedy-drama "Boston Legal". She has earned five Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards and an Oscar nomination among others during her acting career which has spanned more than four decades. The 67-year-old has a role in upcoming comedy movie "A Friggin' Christmas Miracle" starring Joel McHale, Robin Williams and Lauren Graham.

Grodin, meanwhile, is mostly remembered for his portrayal of George Newton in the 1990s John Hughes comedy franchise, "Beethoven". He was nominated for Golden Globe Award for Best Actor - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy through his role in "The Heartbreak Kid" in 1972 and won a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor for "Heart and Souls". He will next be seen in drama comedy "While We're Young" as Naomi Watts' father.

On "The Michael J. Fox Show" inspired by his true life, Michael J. Fox stars as Michael "Mike" Henry who put his career on hold to spend more time with his family and focus on his health after he was diagnosed with Parkinson's. But now five years later, with the kids busy growing up and Mike growing restless, it just might be time for him to get back to work.

The new comedy will premiere Thursday, September 26 at 9 P.M. on NBC. Three new promos are just released to further hype up the show's forthcoming debut.
