Avenged Sevenfold Scores Second No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 With 'Hail to the King'

The rock band's sixth studio album beats last week's No. 1, Luke Bryan's 'Crash My Party', after selling 159,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

AceShowbiz - Avenged Sevenfold's "Hail to the King" has landed at Billboard 200's No. 1. According to Nielsen SoundScan, the rock band's sixth studio album dethrones last week's first placer, Luke Bryan's "Crash My Party", after debuting with 159,000 copies sold.

"Hail to the King" gives lead vocalist M. Shadows and his bandmates their second No. 1 album and their second-largest sales. Their first No. 1 album was 2010 release, "Nightmare", which sold more than 163,000 copies in its first week.

After spending two consecutive weeks on the highest position of the chart, Bryan's "Crash My Party" falls to No. 2 with 92,000. Big Sean's latest album, "Hall of Fame", lands at No. 3 with 72,000, while fellow rapper Juicy J's "Stay Trippy" claims the fourth spot with 64,000.

At No. 5, Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" rises from last week's No. 6 with 55,000. Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience" climbs from No. 22 to No. 6 with 37,000. John Mayer's "Paradise Valley" slips from No. 2 to No. 7 with 36,000.

Debuting at No. 8 with 32,000 is compilation album "Alabama & Friends". The album features country stars, such as Bryan and Jason Aldean, singing cover songs as a tribute to country rock band Alabama.

Selling 31,000, Bruno Mars' "Unorthodox Jukebox" goes up from last week's No. 18 to this week's No. 9. Rounding out the top 10 is TGT, whose "3 Kings" plunges from No. 3 to No. 10 with 27,000.
