The 'American Idol' alum sings on the soundtrack of the new biopic where she plays the South African politician.

AceShowbiz - With only a few days before her new movie "Winnie Mandela" hits theatres this Friday, September 6, R'n'B/soul diva Jennifer Hudson releases her stirring contribution to the soundtrack of the biopic where she's cast in the title role. Entitled "Bleed for Love", the Diane Warren-penned track also features South Africa's Soweto Gospel Choir.

The four-minute ballad features the 31-year-old singer's wide vocal range, from the low notes in the verses going up to the soaring vocals in the hook. It becomes even more powerful and moving when the "American Idol" season three finalist's voice is complemented with the background vocals provided by the gospel choir.

" 'Bleed for Love' has such an incredible and meaningful message about the power of love and the extension of the human heart," said the multi-awarded singer and Oscar-winning actress. "Diane wrote a beautiful song and it was an honor to work with her and the rest of the team to create this powerful piece of music."

The long-awaited "Winnie Mandela" biopic stars the Grammy Award-winning Hudson as the leader of the African National Congress Women's League and former spouse of South Africa President Nelson Mandela, portrayed here by Oscar-nominated actor Terrence Howard. The film chronicles the life of Winnie Mandela from her childhood up to her married life with the anti-apartheid revolutionary. It's finally going to be released years after it was first announced back in 2010.
