The actress thinks the politician 'would make a wonderful president' because of her maternal instinct.

AceShowbiz - "The Avengers" star Scarlett Johansson practically endorsed U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to be the next U.S. president in her new Harper's Bazaar U.K. interview appearing in the October issue. The sexy 28-year-old actress openly expressed why she thought the 65-year-old former first lady would be the ideal candidate after Pres. Barack Obama come the next elections.

"I think Hillary Clinton would make a wonderful president," said the Tony and BAFTA Award-winning actress. "I think we could only benefit from having someone in office who has been a mother; women have a different perspective and appreciation of humanity because of that maternal instinct," adding that "it can only be a step forward."

Johansson is one of the many Hollywood celebrities who backed up Obama's re-election bid. Regarding her active support for the Obama, the "Iron Man 2" star said, "It would be irresponsible not to" for someone who comes "from a politically active family." She added, "More than anything else, I believe that if everyone exercised the right to vote, the right choice would be made by the nation as a whole."

Being very much self-aware and politically-engaged, Johansson was asked if it's possible for her to enter politics. The movie and stage actress did not shoot down the idea and instead was very open-minded about it, saying, "That seems like a stretch. But who knows? I don't limit the possibilities. If I have more time, I may be able to lend a bigger voice to politics. I never close the door on those kinds of things."
