Spanish-language comedy 'Instructions Not Included', meanwhile, pulls off box-office shocker by making it to the top 5.

AceShowbiz - In a box-office battle between One Direction and Selena Gomez, it turns out that the British boyband claims the victory. "One Direction: This Is Us", a music documentary from director Morgan Spurlock, grabs the first spot on the North American chart during its first week with $15.8 million and an "A" CinemaScore.
The Simon Cowell-produced flick beats Gomez and Ethan Hawke's new flick, "Getaway", which debuts to a disappointing $4.5 million at No. 9. With an awful "C+" CinemaScore as well as bad reviews given to it, the latest action film from Warner Bros. will most likely disappear from theaters quickly.
Despite the starry cast members, the poorly-received "Getaway" also loses to a Spanish-language comedy that surprisingly makes it to the top 5 in its first run. Awarded with a great "A+" CinemaScore, "Instructions Not Included", directed by Eugenio Derbez, takes in $7.8 million to claim the fourth place.
Still going strong in their fourth run are "We're the Millers" and "Planes", which nab the third and fifth position respectively. The former bags $12.7 million and the latter receives another $7.7 million.
Being a champ for two consecutive weeks, "Lee Daniels' The Butler" this time falls to No. 2 with $14.9 million.
