The young actress has chopped her long locks for her role as a cancer patient in the adaptation of John Green's book and for a good cause.

AceShowbiz - A photo posted on Just Jared gives fans a much better look at Shailene Woodley's new haircut, which made its debut on a Twitter pic the talented actress herself shared, as she was spotted on the Pittsburgh set of "The Fault in Our Stars" Thursday, August 29. Like what Shailene had explained before, she decided to cut off her flowing locks for a role in the film and for a good cause.

"There was a time when growing my hair out symbolized something for me, but the power of sharing that choice, sharing the ability to have long hair with someone feels far more powerful right now," the young star explained why she donated her hair to Children with Hair Loss, an organization that creates wigs for kids who've experienced hair loss due to medical conditions.

Feeling inspired to do it after listening to Regina Spektor's song "Ghost of Corporate Future", she asked fans to consider joining her in the "#hairforhazel team," referring to her character's name, Hazel Grace Lancaster. In the film, Hazel is a 16-year-old cancer patient who falls for a 17-year-old amputee named Augustus Waters.

The novel-adapted pic is directed by Josh Boone. Shailene will reunite with her "Divergent" co-star, Ansel Elgort, who has been cast as the aforementioned love interest of Hazel.
