Movie

The Alan Shore of 'Boston Legal' is set to face off the Earth's Mightiest Heroes for control of the universe in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'.

AceShowbiz - The "Avengers 2" has found its major villain in James Spader. The Emmy-winning actor is confirmed by Marvel to bring Ultron to life and fight the Earth's Mightiest Heroes to life in the much-awaited "Avengers" sequel, which is due for a May 1, 2015 release.

Titled "Avengers: Age of Ultron", it is written and directed by Joss Whedon, who helmed the first "Avengers" in 2012. There is not much known about the storyline, but Whedon once said at Comic-Con last July, "We're doing our own version of the origin story of Ultron."

Spader was last seen on the big screen in the critically-acclaimed film "Lincoln" directed by Steven Spielberg. He won three Emmy Awards for his role as Alan Shore on "Boston Legal" and "The Practice". He will return to TV this fall on NBC's "The Blacklist".

The "Avengers" brought in at least $1.5 billion in worldwide box office since being released summer last year, becoming one of the highest grossing films of all time. The sequel will bring together the likes of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans.
