The former member of The Beatles unleashes the DJ Mark Ronson-produced love song ahead of the October 15 release of the album of the same name.

AceShowbiz - Paul McCartney is gearing up for the release of his next album "New" which will become his first effort of completely fresh solo material in six years since 2007's "Memory Almost Full". He kicks off promotion for the CD by releasing its lead single of the same name.

The single is produced by DJ Mark Ronson who has worked with the likes of Amy Winehouse, Lady GaGa and Lily Allen. "It's catchy, it's summery, it's a love song. I think people will recognize it as definitely me," the ex-member of The Beatles tells BBC.

"Mark's work with Amy was sensational, so I knew he'd be good. He knows his music, he knows what he likes and the two of us together took the song and tried to put the maximum vibe into it," he says. "We had a lot of fun. He brought expertise, energy, enthusiasm and the odd laugh or two."

Featuring 12 songs, the album co-produced by Paul Epworth is planned for release in the United States on October 15. "The record is very varied. I worked with four producers and each of them brought something different," the former member of the Fab Four dishes on.

McCartney's last album "Kisses on the Bottom" was released last year. Consisting primarily of covers of traditional pop music and jazz, it reached No. 1 on Billboard Jazz Albums chart and won Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
