The ex-boyfriend of the late Princess of Wales slams the upcoming movie starring Naomi Watts, saying he has 'never given any approval' to the film and will never watch it.

AceShowbiz - Dr. Hasnat Khan, who was romantically linked to Princess Diana years before her death, has reacted to her upcoming biopic, "Diana". Speaking to Mail on Sunday, the cardiologist blasts the movie for its inaccurate depiction of his relationship with Princess Diana.
"I don't see this movie doing well at all," he tells the site. "It is based on gossip and Diana's friends talking about a relationship that they didn't know much about, and some of my relatives who didn't know much about it either. It is all based on hypotheses and gossip."
Khan denies that the movie has got his "tacit acceptance" as claimed by the producer, saying, "It is a complete lie. I have never given any approval." He goes on pointing out one misinterpretation in the film after watching a still image, "I could tell immediately those were never our mannerisms at all, with [my] hands folded behind the back and all that."
"You could tell from that picture that it is all just presumed about how we would behave with each other, and they have got it completely wrong," he adds, "There wasn't any hierarchy in our relationship. She wasn't a Princess and I wasn't a doctor." He continues, "We were friends, and normal people stand like friends with each other. That one still picture told me a lot about how they will portray things in the film and I can see [it] is wrong."
Diana dated Dr. Khan, whom Vanity Fair described as the true love of Diana's life, for two years before started seeing Dodi Fayed. The surgeon admits it was the "non-progression" of the relationship that led to the end of their relationship in the summer of 1997. "Even after two years, the relationship wasn't leading to a meaningful progression or conclusion and that was the main stress on both of us," he reveals.
Naomi Watts, who plays the late Princess of Wales in "Diana", has said she's worried about Prince William and Prince Harry's reaction to the film. "The biggest reason that made me pause was how the princes were going to be feel about this," she tells U.K.'s Sunday Times. "I do care deeply about how the princes feel, of course. I am a mum of two boys. But it was a story that was bound to be told at some point, and it's possibly fresher than people expected."
"I turned it down twice," she says of her response when offered the role two years ago, but she eventually accepted it because "there was something very intriguing about this woman's life. It was extraordinary. She always lived a privileged life, but there was noting ordinary about the construct she moved into. I liked the idea that there was this fame - no one at that level can really survive it, I think. It's a very dark thing, but it's kind of true."
"Diana" is directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel with a script written by Stephen Jeffreys, inspired by the book "Diana: Her Last Love" by Kate Snell. It will be released in select theaters Stateside on November 1.
