The 'Dawson's Creek' alum will play a cowboy who manages a ranch in Long Island in the Showtime drama pilot.

AceShowbiz - Joshua Jackson has landed his first starring TV role post-"Fringe". The 35-year-old actor is cast in Showtime's drama pilot "The Affair", joining Dominic West, Maura Tierney and Ruth Wilson, the network has announced via a press release.
On the show, Jackson will play Cole, a tough cowboy who manages a ranch on the eastern tip of Long Island that has been in the family for many generations. He is married to Allison (Wilson), a young woman working in a pancake house who is trying to piece her life back together in the wake of a tragedy.
Their emotionally charged marriage becomes even more complicated when Allison begins an affair with Noah (West), a good husband and devoted father of four whose settled, comfortable world is about to implode when he meets Allison, whom he thinks is his soul mate. Tierney stars as Noah's wife of 17 years who, over time, will swing back and forth from understanding to furious, and from forgiving to vengeful over his infidelity.
From Sarah Treem and Hagai Levi, "The Affair" is dubbed an intense and intimate exploration of two marriages and an affair that disrupts them - with all of the complex consequences that result. The "In Treatment" writer/producer duo will also executive produce the provocative, one-hour relationship drama which is told separately from the male and female perspective. Mark Mylod will direct and executive produce it.
