The restaurateur and her ex-employee Lisa Jackson agreed to have the discrimination lawsuit dismissed.

AceShowbiz - After practically losing the business empire that she had built over the years following her much-criticized use of the N-word, celebrity chef Paula Deen welcomed on Friday, August 23 a resolution in the discrimination and sexual harassment lawsuit brought against her by her ex-employee Lisa Jackson. In documents filed in the U.S. District Court in Savannah, both sides agreed to drop the lawsuit "without any award of costs or fees to any party," with the final dismissal order yet to be signed by the judge.

The agreement comes two weeks after Judge William T. Moore threw out the racial discrimination claims made by Jackson against Deen and her brother Earl "Bubba" Hiers, saying she had no standing to sue over the poor treatment of African-American workers in the restaurant. Jackson, who is white, alleged that the siblings subjected her to a hostile work environment where racist remarks were made against the restaurant's black employees.

Deen was quick to issue a statement on the developments, saying that she's "looking forward to getting this behind me, now that the remaining claims have been resolved." Meanwhile, Jackson backpedaled in her own statement, upholding that "the Paula Deen I have known for more than eight years is a woman of compassion and kindness and will never tolerate discrimination or racism of any kind toward anyone."

Seeing the imminent end to this horrible chapter in her life and career, the 66-year-old TV personality says, "I look forward to getting back to doing what I love," and more importantly, has promised to take a closer look at how her employees were being treated and how things can be improved in the workplace.
