While the promo video teases how Brody, Carrie and Saul's presence will create the tension on the show, a newly-released poster hints that Carrie must choose side.

AceShowbiz - Showtime unleashes a new teaser for "Homeland" season 3. Set to Adele's "Lovesong", the video title "Haunted" hints at how Brody, Carrie and Saul will never find peace as each other's presence or absence will keep them "haunted."

At the same title, a poster for the upcoming season is unleashed. Carrie's face is taking the center spot, being sandwiched between Brody's and Saul's. It has a tagline which reads, "Pledge Allegiance," suggesting that Carrie will have to pick one side.

When "Homeland" returns Sunday, September 29 at 9 P.M., Brody won't be seen in the first two episodes after he crossed the border. "The decision to not have Brody in the first two episodes was just a function of storyline," executive producer Alex Gansa reasoned.

He also said of the theme, "One of the themes of season three is the cost that being an intelligence officer exacts on the people who are in that career. And Saul and Carrie are obviously the prime examples of that. As a result of the attack last year, the CIA itself is on trial: That agency couldn't even protect itself; how should it be expected to protect the country? Saul is confronted with that very question in the first episode."

Producer Alex Cary added, "In the first two seasons you see Carrie and the CIA on the defensive, and now you see them on the offensive."
