Josh Gad: I Drop 30 Lbs. for Steve Wozniak Role in 'jOBS'
Movie

The '21' actor admits he cut down 'from about 18 meals a day to about five' to get slimmer.

AceShowbiz - Ashton Kutcher is not the only cast member who went extra mile to prepare for his role in Joshua Michael Stern's "jOBS". His co-star, Josh Gad, reveals that he also had a great diet for his portrayal of Steve Wozniak in the biopic of his late friend, Steve Jobs. At the screening of the film in L.A., the 32-year-old star dished on his strict diet regime.

At the event held at Regal Cinemas on Tuesday, August 13, Gad told PEOPLE that he lost at least 30 lbs. The Tony Award nominee achieved it by working with a nutritionist and cutting down "from about 18 meals a day to about five." He revealed he had seven egg whites with avocado on top and a grapefruit for breakfast, with protein shake and some almonds as snack.

For lunch, Gad ate 7 oz. of turkey on a salad with nonfat dressing. Meanwhile, he had salmon and vegetables with another protein shake for dinner. The Neil of "Thanks for Sharing" joked, "It's amazing what it's done to my love life. My wife actually loves me again!"

For his lead role, Kutcher adopted Jobs' fruitarian diet, which then made him sent to hospital to be treated for pancreas problem. "First of all, the fruitarian diet can lead to like severe issues," the "Two and a Half Men" star said.

"I went to the hospital like two days before we started shooting the movie. I was doubled over in pain," he recalled. "My pancreas levels were like completely out of whack. It was really terrifying ... considering everything."

"jOBS", written by Matt Whiteley, will arrive in U.S. theaters on August 16.
