AceShowbiz - Ashton Kutcher has finally given his response to Steve Wozniak's complaints that certain plot points of Kutcher's film, "jOBS", were "totally wrong" and "not close." In an interview with the Associated Press (via Washington Post), the actor says that the late Steve Jobs' partner did not serve as consultant in the production. This is why the story is different from his.
"He's a brilliant man and I respect his work, but he wasn't available to us as a resource, so his account isn't going to be our account because we don't know exactly what it was," the leading man in the Joshua Michael Stern biopic says. "We did the best job we could. Nobody really knows what happened in the rooms."
Kutcher goes further as he claims, "Steve Wozniak is being paid by another company to support their Steve Jobs film. It's personal for him, but it's also business. We have to keep that in mind." This is not the first time Kutcher says so. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he echoed the claim and added, "So he's gonna have an opinion that is connected to that."
"He wanted it to be represented - his contribution to Apple - fairly. And, in all fairness, the movie's called Jobs," the "Bobby" star argued. "And it's about Steve Jobs and the legacy of Steve Jobs, and so I think it focuses more ... on what his contribution to Apple was."
Wozniak, portrayed in the Kutcher film by Josh Gad, has been hired to work on Aaron Sorkin's untitled Jobs biopic. This version is based on Walter Isaacson's biography of the late Apple co-founder. The adaptation is under development at Sony Pictures.
