First Trailer for Frank Darabont's TNT Drama 'Mob City' Sees Many Deaths

The neo-noir series from the 'Walking Dead' creator centers on a mob task force determined to get rid of criminals from Los Angeles.

AceShowbiz - Frank Darabont's upcoming period drama "Mob City" has got its first trailer and a premiere date. The police procedural series, which was known as "L.A. Noir" and "Lost Angels", is set to debut Wednesday, December 4 at 10 P.M. on TNT.

The trailer hints at how intense the mob drama is, showing many merciless killings and dead bodies on streets. Dialogs are scarce and plot details are vague in the video, but a synopsis has been released for the show.

Based on "John Buntin's L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America's Most Seductive City", "Mob City" focuses on the epic battle between a determined police chief and a dangerous mobster inflames 1940s Los Angeles. Los Angeles Police Chief William Parker (Neal McDonough) has made it his mission to free the city of criminals like Ben "Bugsy" Siegel (Ed Burns) and Mickey Cohen (Jeremy Luke), the ruthless king of the Los Angeles underworld.

To carry out his sweep of organized crime, Parker sets up a new mob task force within the LAPD. Headed by Det. Hal Morrison (Jeffrey DeMunn), the task force includes Det. Joe Teague (Jon Bernthal), an ex-Marine who holds his cards close to his chest.

Former "The Walking Dead" showrunner Frank Darabont developed the six-episode series, writing and directing the pilot. The project reunites him with "Walking Dead" actors DeMunn and Bernthal. Other actors landing roles on the new series are Gregory Itzin, Robert Knepper, Milo Ventimiglia and Alexa Davalos.
