Chloe Moretz on Jim Carrey's Stance on 'Kick-Ass 2' Violence: It's Wrong
Movie

'It's a movie and it's fake ... I don't want to run around trying to kill people and cuss,' the Hit-Girl depicter comments.

AceShowbiz - Chloe Moretz slams Jim Carrey over his stance on "Kick-Ass 2" violence. Last June, the 51-year-old comedian and actor decided to no longer continue his support for the movie, in which he stars opposite the young actress, due to its level of mayhem. Now, in an interview with the U.K.'s Sun, Moretz explains why she does not agree with him at all.

"It's a movie. If you are going to believe and be affected by an action film, you shouldn't go to see 'Pocahontas' because you are going to think you are a Disney princess," says Moretz, who also stars alongside Aaron Johnson in the film, due out August 16. "If you are that easily swayed, you might see 'The Silence of the Lambs' and think you are a serial killer."

The 16-year-old beauty continues, "It's a movie and it's fake, and I've known that since I was a kid ... I don't want to run around trying to kill people and cuss. If anything, these movies teach you what not to do." Even so, Moretz still respects his decision. "Each to their own," she says.

Carrey, who plays the vigilante Colonel Stars and Stripes in the action pic, made the shocking announcement on Twitter. "I did Kickass a month b4 Sandy Hook and now in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence," he said, referring to the school shooting massacre in Sandy Hook, Ct., in December 2012.

The Canadian star proved his words by not attending the promotional effort of his latest film at Comic-Con. Aaron Johnson admitted he felt "sad" his co-star was absent. "He's so full of passion. He brings that energy that energy. He raises the bar high. I had a fantastic time working with him. You will enjoy watching him," the British actor said to MTV News.
