The 'Notting Hill' actor lands a supporting role as the head of British Naval Intelligence in Guy Ritchie's spy film.

AceShowbiz - "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." has just added new cast member. The Hollywood Reporter learns that Guy Ritchie has got Hugh Grant attached to his next directorial movie to take on a supporting role. The co-star of Nicholas Hoult in "About a Boy" will be featured as the head of British Naval Intelligence.
Henry Cavill replaces Tom Cruise, who dropped out last May, as the leading man. The "Man of Steel" hunk is introduced as Napoleon Solo, a special agent who along with Illya Kullyakin works for the mysterious United Network Command for Law Enforcement (U.N.C.L.E.). Armie Hammer has been tapped to be Cavill's partner.
"A Royal Affair" actress Alicia Vikander co-stars as the female lead in the feature adaptation of the 1960s TV show. Besides directing, Ritchie co-writes alongside Scott Z. Burns and co-produces along with John Davis and Lionel Wigram. The production is scheduled to start in September.
Grant is known for starring in romantic comedies "Notting Hill" with Julia Roberts as his on-screen love interest and "Music and Lyrics" opposite Drew Barrymore. He is currently filming another same-genre pic, which is currently untitled with Marc Lawrence serving behind the lens.
