AceShowbiz - "jOBS" threw its New York premiere at the Museum of Modern Art on Wednesday, August 7. Ashton Kutcher, who stars as the Apple founder, managed to be the lead at the red carpet as well. As soon as he walked down the long lane, Kutcher was immediately greeted with cries of welcome from fans and camera flash.
Kutcher, who showed up without his love Mila Kunis, who is still busy filming "Jupiter Ascending" with Channing Tatum, was later joined by co-star Josh Gad and director Joshua Michael Stern. Celebs supporting the buzzed-about biopic that evening were Nicky Hilton, Rachel Roy, Nicole Trunfio, Thomas Roberts and more.
Due out August 16 in the U.S., "jOBS" details the major moments and defining characters that influenced Steve Jobs on a daily basis from 1971 through 2000. It plunges into the depths of his character, creating an intense dialogue-driven story that is as much a sweeping epic as it is an immensely personal portrait of Steve Jobs' life.
For the coveted role, Kutcher has worked really hard to make a convincing Steve Jobs. Not only did he have a fruit-only diet which then resulted in pancreas problem, but the "Two and a Half Men" actor also tried to capture his hunched walk and demeanor.
Kutcher admitted the idea of playing the role at first "terrified" him. "The chance to portray someone who not only lived but who is still very relevant and alive in the zeitgeist seemed to be a once-in-a-lifetime challenge," he explained why he eventually jumped aboard.
