Leonardo DiCaprio Might Play Viking King in 'King Harald'
Movie

As of now, the 'Great Gatsby' actor is set to produce the movie about 11th century conqueror Harald Hardrada.

AceShowbiz - Leonardo DiCaprio's next starring gig might be "King Harald". According to report from Deadline, Warner Bros. and DiCaprio's Appian Way production company have nabbed a pitch by screenwriter Mark L. Smith for the Viking film, which will be developed as a potential starring vehicle for the three time Oscar-nominated actor.

Said to be in the vein of "Braveheart", the film centers on 11th century conqueror Harald Hardrada, who spent 15 years in exile as a mercenary and military commander in the Byzantine Empire before becoming a Viking king. DiCaprio has long been interested in starring in a Viking movie. He was once set to headline a Mel Gibson pic, but it did not come to fruition.

Besides "King Harald", Warner Bros. hopes "Rasputin" can be another potential starring gig for DiCaprio. Pitch by Jason Hall for the film about the infamous Russian mystic and adviser to the Romanovs was acquired by the studio last June. Kevin McCormick, Jennifer Davisson Killoran and Peter Morgan are on board to produce.

The latest flick DiCaprio starred in is "The Great Gatsby". He will next be seen as stockbroker Jordan Belfort in "The Wolf of Wall Street", which is also supported by Matthew McConaughey and Jonah Hill. It is due out November 15 in the U.S.
