The Salem witches vs. voodoo practitioners storyline is teased in a spooky sneak peek that sees women stuck to the walls.

AceShowbiz - A first teaser of the upcoming "American Horror Story: Coven" has just arrived for fans' viewing pleasure. Females are facing the walls above the ground in an eerie spacious white room as a spooky rendition of "House of the Rising Sun" is played as a backsound.

The third season of the FX horror anthology series will premiere in October. It will center on "a centuries-long feud" between Salem witches and voodoo practitioners in New Orleans.

"The witches of Salem, the smart ones, got out very early and they were none of the ones who were burned," creator Ryan Murphy told Vulture. "They all gravitated toward New Orleans, where they now live, and every generation has a great witch who has the most powers of them all, and that's called the Supreme. Ms. Jessica Lange is the Supreme."

Bassett will portray Marie Laveau, a real-life Louisiana Creole woman "in the 1800s who was very influential in the city." She was known as a Voodoo priestess. "It's up to Jessica Lange and Angela Bassett to mend the fence," Murphy said.

Another main cast, Kathy Bates, is set to play Marie Delphine LaLaurie, or Madame LaLaurie, loosely based on the real-life Louisiana-born socialite infamous for killing and torturing black slaves in the 1830s. She was initially a best friend to Lange's character (Fiona) but later turns into her worst enemy.

Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Denis O'Hare, Gabourey Sidibe and Taissa Farmiga are included in the cast.
