Mike 'Sugar Bear' Thompson is currently battling an unspecified brain disorder which makes him pass out and, therefore, undergoes several tests to be diagnosed properly.

AceShowbiz - Alana Thompson's father Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson is suffering from a disease which apparently affects his brain. The "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" star has undergone some tests at a clinic to get a proper diagnosis of the cause of his fainting.
Mama June took to Facebook on Monday, August 5, to say that Sugar Bear and other family members were in Jacksonville after he underwent some neurological tests. "Have to go back for more tests today and we will b here all week to run tests and more appts to get the right diagnosis and treatment sugar bear needs so will update more later," she wrote.
She explained, "He's havin spells where he passes out & we don't know the cause & meds aren't helping. We are all nervous to c what will b done with everything will update when we hear something #nervous and #hoping for the best."
The symptoms apparently started in May. At that time, he was admitted to a hospital because he felt dizzy and fainted. "Everyone plz pray. Sugar Bear he was rushed to hospital after having a dizzy spell & passing out they r running test will update soon," Mama June wrote on May 24.
She said one day later, "Update he was admitted they r running test of his brain don't really want to say what they think it is until we know final answers thanks." However, the examination did not seem really good. She wrote on June that Sugar Bear would undergo more tests. "He is being and acting normal unless he has an episode," she said.
