The boyband's Northerly Island show on Friday, August 2 ended on an unfinished rendition of 'Love Somebody'.

AceShowbiz - The Backstreet Boys world tour opening show on Friday, August 2 at the FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island in Chicago ended abruptly while they were performing "Love Somebody". Apparently, a late start made it impossible for the quintet to squeeze in the full show before the strict 11 P.M. curfew came up.
"As has always been the case, the Backstreet Boys production is unlike anything else on the road" and the "state of the art" concert setup, as explained in a statement the following day by the venue's manager, Live Nation, had caused the delay in admitting the ticketholders and in starting the concert. Consequently, the show had to be cut off without an encore, leaving fans disappointed.
Band member Kevin Richardson posted an apology on the group's Facebook page after the incident, saying, "We got shut down five minutes shy of the finish line, so we're so frustrated, and we're going to figure out how to make this right." BSB reportedly still had four songs left in their set and were telling each other as the lights came on and the microphones were shut off that they were willing to pay the fine for extending beyond the curfew if only to give the audience the complete show.
This was supposedly not the first time fans left unsatisfied after going to catch a show at the newly renovated concert venue. Concertgoers who attended a June 29 Jimmy Buffet show complained about muddy conditions and poor acoustics.
