Sarah Michelle Gellar Up for Reprising 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' Role
Movie

The 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' actress says she will do another chapter as Buffy Summers if only there is 'the right story.'

AceShowbiz - It looks like there is a chance of the 1990s fan-favorite TV series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" heading to big-screen in the future. E! Online pops a question about whether the Joss Whedon-created show will take the same route as "Veronica Mars", which has been revived by Kickstarter backers, to Sarah Michelle Gellar. From her answer, there is a glimpse of hope for fans.

"Joss and I always talk about [a movie]. But the thing with Buffy is that Buffy was a movie, and it ultimately didn't work as a film. And I mean, we had such miles to overcome when we were trying to do a TV show based on a movie," she says. "And one of the reasons is that the story works better over time. If there was ever the right story, we would do it. At this point, the stake would be my walker and I would be hobbling in."

Back in 2010, there was news of a "Buffy" reboot which was under development at Warner Bros. without Gellar or Whedon. Vanessa Hudgens was once linked to the said project, but her reps later slammed the report. Whedon, who is currently busy working on Marvel's much-anticipated "Avengers: Age of Ultron", was quite saddened by the news.

"I always hoped that Buffy would live on even after my death. But, you know, AFTER. I don't love the idea of my creation in other hands," Whedon told Kristin Dos Santos of E! Online. "But I'm also well aware that many more hands than mine went into making that show what it was. And there is no legal grounds for doing anything other than sighing audibly."
