Emmy Awards executive producer Ken Ehrlich admits he has been receiving some pressure for a big tribute to the late 'Glee' actor.

AceShowbiz - Emmy Awards is planning a tribute to Cory Monteith, who passed away July 13 from toxic combination of heroin and alcohol at a Vancouver hotel. Met during a break at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, the show's executive producer Ken Ehrlich told Deadline that "something that reflects an homage" to the late actor was indeed in the works.
Details of the planned tribute are not yet known as Ehrlich said, "What the extent of that is, or how we're going to approach it... well, it's too early to tell." He, however, confirmed that an individual tribute to Monteith involving song that would be done separately from the annual "In Memorium" segment was being considered.
Ehrlich also admitted that he has been receiving some pressure to pay larger tribute to Monteith with the timing giving more dilemma to the producer. "If Cory had passed away in March, we'd have had four months to look at this with a little more perspective," he shared. "The reason we're getting all of this discussion now is because he passed away two weeks ago. But we are going to deal with it."
The 65th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be held Sunday, September 22 with "How I Met Your Mother" star Neil Patrick Harris returning as the host. Ehrlich made it clear that the show would have a musical number, gushing, "If you do a three-hour show with Neil Patrick Harris without music, you should have your head examined."
Besides the Emmys, "Glee" which rose Monteith to stardom has also planned a tribute to the 31-year-old actor that is expected to be included in episode 3 of the upcoming season 5.
