'Transformers 4' Pic: Major Explosion on Historic Boblo Boats
Movie

Before being restored, the S.S. Columbia and her sister the S.S. Ste. Clair will make their 'big Hollywood debut' in Michael Bay's film.

AceShowbiz - New photos from the Detroit set of "Transformers 4" have surfaced online, thanks to The Shady City. This time, there is neither robot nor any human cast member making an appearance in the images as they only tease a major explosion scene taking place on two Boblo boats, the S.S. Columbia and the S.S. Ste. Clair.

Both historic boats, which are docked in River Rouge and used as props, will have different roles in the Michael Bay film. The Columbia's ship keeper, Sam Buchanan, told CBC News that the Columbia would only have a "minor" appearance while her sister was set for "a prominent role" in the sequel to "Transformers: Dark of the Moon".

"When the movie folks are in town, they're always looking for unique place to shoot so these boats came into play," Buchanan said. "They're moving right along. They've been shooting primarily at night. I don't know how much more is going to be going on there but they're not nearly finished."

He revealed that Bay had installed a second smoke stack on both boats, which are scheduled to be restored, for "some sort of explosion in the movie." He added, "It won't harm the boat any. The boats won't be harmed in any way, but they're making their big Hollywood debute."

In "Transformers 4", Mark Wahlberg will join forces with Jack Reynor and face off against Kelsey Grammer who is tapped as a human villain.

While details of the plot remain a secret, the release date for the movie has been set on June 27, 2014.
