Hollywood producer Bryan Zuriff, who was indicted with running illegal online gambling in April, has pleaded guilty in New York for his role at an organized-crime company.

AceShowbiz - "Ray Donovan" executive producer Bryan Zuriff pleaded guilty to running an illegal online gambling on Thursday, July 25. The producer was involved in an unlawful online gambling which apparently was run by an enterprise with Russian-American mafia tie. Zuriff will face up to 10 years in prison and pay $500,000 in fine.

"Bryan Zuriff spanned the coasts with his crimes, by operating his own illegal gambling enterprise in Los Angeles, and helping to operate a vast illegal gambling enterprise in New York," U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said in a statement, as quoted by Deadline. "With his plea, he becomes the first defendant, but not the last, to be convicted in this sprawling script of criminal conduct," Bharara added.

Previously, FBI launched an investigation which resulted in Zuriff's operating an illegal gambling business and unlawful internet gambling charges. There were 33 other people who got charged in the case. They reportedly laundered more than $100 million. The 34 people were described as "alleged members and associates of Russian-American organized crime enterprises."

"The charges against Bryan Zuriff today came as a complete surprise to him. He denies any wrongdoing and looks forward to his day in court to confront them," Zuriff's attorney Matthew E. Sloan said back then.

Another person who was accused of being involved in the mafia ring is Hollywood's "poker princess" Molly Bloom. Bloom once admitted that she arranged high-stake poker game for Hollywood celebrities, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Tobey Maguire, Ben Affleck and Alex Rodriguez.
