Executive producer gives a look at the Ghost, the spaceship of the main character on the new animated series, at Star Wars Celebration Europe.

AceShowbiz - Sneak peek at Disney's upcoming "Star Wars Rebels" has been shared at Star Wars Celebration in Essen, Germany. At the event, executive producer Dave Filoni showed first images of the new animated series as well as its logo.

The first look at the show is obtained in the form of drawings by concept artist Ralph McQuarrie. One of the images reveals the Ghost, the spaceship of the yet-to-be-named main character, as well as Stormtroopers on the series. Filoni also showed the interior of an Imperial Star Destroyer.

The logo, meanwhile, boasts orange and black colors, which will remind fans of the X-Wing Fighter pilots' suits in George Lucas' original "Star Wars" trilogy.

"We wanted to create a look for this part of Star Wars that precedes 'A New Hope' by just a little bit," Filoni said of the show's concept art. "We're going for something that's much more an illustrative look."

"Star Wars Rebels" was first announced after Lucasfilm pulled the plug on "Star Wars: The Clone Wars", which ran for five seasons on Cartoon Network. The new show will debut as a one-hour special on Disney Channel in fall 2014 before airing as a full-fledged TV series on Disney XD.

"Star Wars Rebels" takes place between the events of "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" and "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope". It is set in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape.
