The legendary singer was the 'Red' artist's special surprise guest for her recent concert in Massachusetts.

AceShowbiz - For her "Red" tour stop in Foxborough, Massachusetts on Saturday night, July 27, Taylor Swift brought out Grammy Hall of Famer Carly Simon as her special surprise guest. The two ladies sang Simon's 1972 classic "You're So Vain" in front of the sold-out crowd at the Gillette Stadium after Swift quizzed the audience about the often speculated-about song.

"Before I bring out my special guest, I have this question that I've always, always had. I think a lot of you have probably had this question too, always wondered what the answer is. Who is this song, 'You're So Vain' by Carly Simon, written about?" Swift said in her introduction. As the crowd cheered, Simon stepped out in a black and white outfit accentuated by a red scarf that matched Swift's ensemble in keeping with the theme of the country pop superstar's concert tour.

The list of the possible subjects of the mysterious song have ranged from fellow musicians Mick Jagger, David Bowie and Cat Stevens to actor Warren Beatty. The single has been covered by various artists, one of which Simon herself provided featured vocals to when Janet Jackson sampled the song in her version, "Son of a Gun (I Betcha Think This Song Is About You)".

After the show, Swift expressed her excitement about performing with Simon on Twitter. "Got to sing 'You're So Vain' with Carly Simon at Gillette Stadium tonight!!!!! Unreal. I could not possibly look up to her more," wrote the singer.
