The older Bynes, Rick and Lynn, are worried for their daughter's safety because of her paranoia, possible drug problems and obsession with plastic surgery.

AceShowbiz - In a court hearing Friday, July 26, Amanda Bynes' parents showed up in court in their move to seek conservatorship of their daughter. They believed the actress posed a danger to herself and others, claiming that her erratic behavior was fueled by paranoia, drugs and body image issues. Those led to her being homeless and spending a large amount of cash in short time.
Rick and Lynn said in a court document that their 27-year-old daughter was "extremely paranoid about being watched, including at our residence." The worried parents explained, "She would cover smoke alarms with towels, tape windows shut and cover her car dashboard with cardboard and tape out of fear that cameras were watching her from inside these places."
In addition, "Amanda has profound issues with her body image and is obsessed with the idea that she (and others) are ugly." They added, "She talks incessantly about cosmetic surgeries that she wants completed. She also encourages her mother to have plastic surgeries. We are concerned that the surgeries she wants to have are dangerous and detrimental to her health."
The "Easy A" star's obsession with plastic surgery, according to them, was partly the reason she blew through her bank account since they "received large doctor bills" recently. She had approximately $4 million in her savings but reportedly cashed out about $1.2 million in a short time. In June and July alone, they claimed she withdrew $100,000 from her accounts at least twice.
In addition to believing that Bynes had spent her money on doctor's appointments, the parents claimed their daughter "appeared to have a substance abuse problem." They said, "We are informed and believe that a substantial amount of money is being used to pay for marijuana and other illegal substances, and possible for plastic surgery."
They said Bynes lived in New York until July 20 and showed up in California unexpectedly. "When we asked her about how she arrived (since she has no driver's license or other identification) she said she 'cabbed it.' We do not know how she actually traveled from New York to California. We also do not know where she had been staying prior to her psychiatric hold as she has no residence in California. We believe she is essentially homeless," they stated.
Judge Glen M. Reiser delayed making decision on the matter. He said he needed to meet Bynes and get a full report on her condition before making any decision. Since her psychiatric hold had been extended to two weeks, there was no rush to act on the conservatorship request, the judge explained. A hearing is next set for August 9.
Another hearing regarding Bynes' well-being is scheduled for August 1 at the request of herself. According to TMZ, the actress wanted to get out of the hospital, arguing that she was being held illegally. The decision to extend her involuntary 5150 hold was made by a judge Thursday just before her 72-hour star expired.
