Edgar Wright Confirms Hank Pym Will Be in 'Ant-Man'
Movie

The genius scientist will not make any appearance in Joss Whedon's 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'.

AceShowbiz - Edgar Wright reveals in which Marvel film Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym will eventually be featured. The 39-year-old British filmmaker tells io9 that the creator of Ultron will make his first big-screen appearance in "Ant-Man", which is scheduled to open on November 6, 2015 and will be penned by Wright and Joe Cornish.

Wright's statement comes after Joss Whedon denies the presence of Pym in his upcoming movie "Avengers: Age of Ultron". In another report from io9, Whedon said, "We don't have to have him. It works very simply - this is Marvel cinema, not Marvel comics. One thing [Marvel Studios head] Kevin Feige has a genius for is knowing what to hold onto and what to let go of."

Whedon has made it clear that "Avengers 2", to be released on May 1, 2015, will be an origin story. Thus, as he said, "You don't need a Pym to create an Ultron," Whedon perhaps will introduce another Marvel character as the creator of Ultron. Rumor swirls that it might be Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man who will take over the role of Pym.

While "Avengers 2" has already cast Robert Downey Jr., "Ant-Man" has not found any actor yet. The latest actor linked to the latter project is Armie Hammer, who stars in "The Lone Ranger". However, both Hammer and Wright have denied the report.
