The 'Victorious' star is racing to the top spot on iTunes chart against One Direction who just dropped their single 'Best Song Ever'.

AceShowbiz - After the success of her Mac Miller-assisted single "The Way", anticipation was high for Ariana Grande's next single "Baby I" ahead of the release of her debut album. Coming from production hands of Babyface, Tony Dixon and j. Que, the much-awaited song has finally arrived.

The R&B midtempo jam is apparently poised to become her next chart-busting single. Just hours after being released, it is climbing up to the top spot on iTunes chart competing against One Direction, who just premiered a music video for their new single "Best Song Ever" on the same day.

Grande's first album is planned for a fall release. The first single "The Way" peaked at No. 9 on Billboard Hot 100 and at No. 8 on the U.K. Singles chart. Aside from collaborating with Miller, she is also set to join forces with The Wanted's Nathan Sykes in a song called "Almost Is Never Enough".

"They can expect a lot of honesty," she said of her album. "It's like a direct... you know, it's like it used to be pages from my diary, instead of keeping diary, I would write songs about what was happening in my life. So it's really personal. It's a Motown throwback and pop at the same time, so it's '50s and '60s inspiration mixed with today."
