In the Mackash-directed video, duo Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo are seen performing their female friendship anthem on moving train's roof.

AceShowbiz - Icona Pop has dropped the music video for their "Girlfriend". Directed by Mackash, the 3-minute video gives glimpses at the Swedish duo riding their car through deserted roads and town. They are then seen boarding a moving train and performing their female friendship anthem on the roof.

"Girlfriend" samples Tupac Shakur's "Me and My Girlfriend" as well as Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles' "03 Bonnie & Clyde". Duo Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo teamed up with Marvin Harper, Mark Knight, Tyrone Wrice and James Reynolds to co-write the track, which is produced by Stargate.

"Girlfriend" was supposed to be the grand follow-up to Icona Pop's worldwide hit "I Love It", but it's now been relegated to European and Australian single, the only markets where the single has charted since being released in the first days of June.

The girls have announced that another song called "All Night", which is set to hit iTunes on July 23, will serve as the international follow-up to "I Love It".
