Comic-Con 2013: 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Makes Surprise Visit, 'Avengers 2' Reveals Official Title
Movie

While Chris Pratt and his co-stars flew in from London for surprise appearance, Joss Whedon said 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' only shared a title with the actual comic book.

AceShowbiz - Saturday was a day full of surprises for all attendees at San Diego Comic-Con. While DC unveiled its Superman-Batman movie plans and 20th Century Fox drew attention by bringing all "X-Men: Days of Future Past" cast members, Marvel prepared two other special treats during its presentation.

Marvel president Kevin Feige sent Hall H into frenzy as he invited director James Gunn and several main cast of "Guardians of the Galaxy", all of whom just flew in from London, to show up before fans. Though the production just began two weeks ago, Gunn generously presented some footage from the pic, which is slated to open on August 1, 2014 opposite "Fifty Shades of Grey".

During the chat, Chris Pratt dished on his body transformation and described his character, Star-Lord, as "this guy who lives in space ... [and] goes around space making out with alien girls just being a rogue." Of Gamora, Zoe Saldana said, "I've been blue once, so I thought why not try green?"

Dave Bautista shared a story of his struggles to win the Drax the Destroyer role. Karen Gillan, meanwhile, admitted she shaved her head just for her role of Nebula and revealed her bald head to the audience as a proof.

As for Benicio del Toro, he said he had not started filming his part yet. Asked about his character, Lee Pace answered that Ronan the Accuser was "a very complicated Kree."

Marvel apparently also took "The Avengers 2" to the convention. Director Joss Whedon then showed up and joined Feige onstage. "Hi. I know it's time to go. And I don't have a lot to say, but I have something to add," Whedon said to the audience who gathered in the huge Hall H. A trailer of quotes from "The Avengers" was then screened and the view rounded over a metal surface.

As it turns out, the thing was actually the head of one particular Marvel villainous character and the title of the sequel, to be released on May 1, 2015, then popped up on the video: "Avengers: Age of Ultron". In the comics, Ultron is created by Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym a.k.a. Ant-Man and is the creator of android Vision. The latter character, however, will be the one who destroys Ultron with the help of the Avengers.

Speaking to Comic Book Movie, Whedon said that the movie would be an origin story and, therefore, not include Hank Pym.

Prior to the two surprise presentations, Marvel hosted panel for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" in addition to "Thor: The Dark World". Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan were among the panelists.

Besides Q&A session, there was the screening of first footage off the film that includes glimpses of Robert Redford as senior leader within the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization and of MacKie as Falcon.
