The 'Suit and Tie' collaborators cover the Alphaville classic during their Yankee Stadium show in NYC in a tribute to the slain teenager.

AceShowbiz - After Beyonce Knowles and Bruce Springsteen each dedicated a spot in their recent live performances for slain teenager Trayvon Martin, "Legends of the Summer" Stadium Tour joint performers Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake followed suit. The two frequent collaborators and good pals did a cover of the Alphaville classic "Forever Young" for the shooting death victim during their New York City show at the Yankee Stadium on Friday night, July 19.

As JT handled the familiar hook, Hov rapped the verses in front of the sold out crowd that flashed their mobile phones and sang along with the two artists. It was another touching moment in honor of the African-American from Florida amid continuing expressions of both anger and sadness over his racially-charged death and the acquittal of his shooter George Zimmerman.

Right the next day after his successful concert and while still in NYC, Jay-Z with wife Bey attended a rally in support of Martin, joining the late teen's mom Sybrina Fulton and Rev. Al Sharpton in a peaceful protest. The "two of the baddest artists of all time," as Sharpton proudly introduced them, came to show that they too "feel the pain and apprehension-the laws must protect everybody, or it doesn't protect anybody. We do not come from hate, we come from love of children."

The event was only one of more than a hundred similar protests being held around the nation to express disappointment over the not guilty verdict handed down by the jury after Zimmerman claimed he acted in self-defense. No less than Pres. Barack Obama himself had already addressed the issue late last week saying the "Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago" and calling everyone to do some "soul-searching" over this recent tragedy.
