During her concert in Toronto, the Icelandic singer sings 'Declare Independence' and dedicates it to Martin, who was gunned down by George Zimmerman in 2012.

AceShowbiz - Bjork closed her Toronto concert on Tuesday night, July 16, with a song dedicated to the late Trayvon Martin. The 47-year-old Icelandic singer performed her 2008 controversial protest anthem, "Declare Independence".

"Declare Independence" is the song that Bjork has played to declare political support for various causes. She also performed the song and dedicated it to Russian punk-rock group Pussy Riot, whose three members were found guilty of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred back in 2012.

Unarmed 17-year-old Martin was killed after neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman fatally shot him. Last week, the 29-year-old Zimmerman was acquitted of second-degree murder and manslaughter charges by a Florida jury of six women.

Many celebrities have reacted to the not guilty verdict. At her recent concert in Nashville, Beyonce Knowles honored Martin by holding a moment of silence before belting out the chorus of Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You".

Young Jeezy and Wyclef Jean released songs, which were dedicated to the late teenager. Stevie Wonder also protested the verdict, saying that he wouldn't perform in Florida until the state's "Stand Your Ground" law is abolished.
