Kevin Costner Might Star in Guillermo del Toro's 'Midnight Delivery'

The Jonathan Kent of 'Man of Steel' is in talks with Universal Pictures to headline the thriller produced and written by del Toro.

AceShowbiz - Kevin Costner returns to the negotiation table for another potential starring vehicle. After closing all deals with Disney to portray a track coach in "McFarland", the 58-year-old Oscar winner enters talks with Universal to star in "Midnight Delivery", the upcoming thriller which is produced and written by "Pacific Rim" helmer Guillermo del Toro.

The "Dances With Wolves" actor is expected to take on the role of a father, who attempts to save his estranged daughter from a Colombian gang by trafficking cocaine to London on a midnight flight. del Toro pens the story with the help of Neil Cross, the creator of BBC's Idris Elba-starring "Luther".

Having come aboard to serve as executive producers are Gary Ungar, Tory Metzger and Russell Ackerman. David Linde of Lava Bear Films will produce alongside del Toro. "Midnight Delivery" is reportedly eyeing a fall shoot.

Costner has been keeping himself busy post-"Man of Steel", in which he starred as the Earth father of Superman. He recently finished filming the EuropaCorp thriller "Three Days to Kill".

The Robin Hood depicter in 1991's "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" will next be seen in "Jack Ryan", which also stars Chris Pine and is set for a December 25 release.
