AceShowbiz - Young Jeezy paid tribute to Trayvon Martin by releasing a song called "It's a Cold World". The song arrived a few hours after jury of six women found George Zimmerman not guilty of second-degree murder in the 2012 shooting death of 17-year-old Martin.
"I'm like losing homies everyday/ I'm like kill somebody else/ If nothing else, I'mma do it for Trayvon/ That's on a stack of bibles at least two or three Korans," Jeezy spits his bars. The sounds of gun firing and sirens can also be heard in the song.
Jeezy said he was not trying to take advantage of Martin's death. "I am in no way shape, form, or fashion am trying to capitalize off of the latest series of events," he wrote on his Facebook page on Sunday, July 14. "These are my true feelings and my form of expression about it."
Jeezy wasn't the only one who got disappointed with Zimmerman's not guilty verdict. Wyclef Jean reacted to the unfortunate news by releasing a music video for "Justice (If You're 17)". In the video, hoodie-clad Jean is seen singing about Martin's tragic death.
"If you're 17 with a hoodie on watch out for the neighborhood watcher/ If you at the right neighborhood at the wrong time neighborhood watcher/ This might be your last call to your girlfriend," he sings.
On Saturday, July 13, Zimmerman was acquitted of second-degree murder and manslaughter charges by a jury of six women. The 29-year-old man, who fatally shot and killed an unarmed Martin back in February 2012, was free to go after the verdict was read.
Responding to the verdict, a crowd gathered outside the courthouse and demanded "justice for Trayvon." Some people were wearing hoodies like the one Martin was wearing when he was killed.
