The Harvey Dent of 'The Dark Knight' gets buff for his role as Adam Frankenstein in the Lionsgate movie.

AceShowbiz - Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, fans are now treated with the first official image of "I, Frankenstein", the upcoming thriller horror from Lionsgate. Aaron Eckhart, who plays the leading man in the film from director/writer Stuart Beattie, is seen giving an intense look at someone while showing off his ripped body.

The big-screen adaptation of Kevin Grievioux's graphic novel is set in a dystopic present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power. Victor Frankenstein's creation Adam finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality.

Eckhart previously revealed to Collider that he performed most of his own stunts throughout the film. "We worked really hard on it. It's got a lot of action. I did all the fighting myself, 100|percent|, pretty much except for one fall, so I'm really proud of that," he said.

Of what is exciting about this movie, he said, "You take a modern tale of the monster of Frankenstein, put Kali sticks in his hands, and then you put gargoyles and demons and good and evil in it... and we're talking about a kick-ass movie."

"I, Frankenstein" will take the San Diego Comic-Con stage on Saturday, July 20 to debut first footage. It is due out in the U.S. on January 24, 2014.
