Charlie Hunnam and Idris Elba Hit L.A. for 'Pacific Rim' Premiere

AceShowbiz - After invading London for a European premiere, "Pacific Rim" next headed to Los Angeles on Tuesday, July 9. The event took place at Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, and director Guillermo del Toro brought along Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi and Idris Elba to promote their action-heavy flick which will be out this Friday, July 12.

Supporting actors Ron Perlman, Charlie Day who came with his wife Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Clifton Collins Jr., Max Martini and Robert Kazinsky looked dapper in their suits. Also spotted hitting the black carpet was Jesse Metcalfe, who opted for a casual look in an all-black ensemble complete with sunglasses.

"Pacific Rim" features Hunnam and Kikuchi as two unlikely heroes who pilot robots called Jaegers in an attempt to combat sea monsters Kaijus. The Warner Bros. movie has been hailed by rap star Kanye West, who proclaimed himself a big fan of it on Twitter after attending its pre-screening.

"It's easily one of my favorite movies of all time," the "Black Skinhead" hitmaker gushed. "This is not another 'Robot' movie. Guillermo del Toro is a master."

"Pacific Rim" will be up against the Adam Sandler-produced comedy "Grown Ups 2".
