Jessica's former husband says that he and the TV personality are not in touch, but he says that 'I certainly wish her the best and I would like to think the same on her end.'

AceShowbiz - Nick Lachey hopes for the best for his ex-wife, Jessica Simpson, following the birth of her second child. Speaking to E! News at the NYC launch of Wendy's #PretzelLoveSongs campaign, the member of 98 Degrees said that he had not spoken to Jessica for a while.

"No. We're not in touch. I certainly wish her the best and I would like to think the same on her end, but we don't speak. We haven't spoken in years," he said.

Nick got married to the "I Wanna Love You Forever" singer in 2002, but they decided to split in 2005. Nick later proposed to Vanessa Minnillo in 2010. Nick and Vanessa tied the knot in a tropical island ceremony on July 15, 2011. The couple welcomed a son, Camden John Lachey, in September.

After splitting from Nick, the "Fashion Star" mentor got engaged to former NFL player, Eric Johnson (II) in 2010. The couple welcomed their first daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson in May 2012. A few months after Maxwell's arrival, Jessica got pregnant with her second child. Jessica and Eric's second child, Ace Knute Johnson, was born on June 30.

Jessica and Eric are reportedly planning to get married soon. A source told Us Weekly in May that the mother of two "was telling friends she wanted to get married a few months after the baby is born." The source added, "Jessica said, 'Let's have this wedding already before I get pregnant with another one!' "
