The 'Foolish Games' singer replaces Sara Bareilles on the NBC revived singing competition series, with Shawn Stockman and Ben Folds returning as the other judges.

AceShowbiz - "The Sing-Off" is reassembling the team heading into its winter premiere. The show will bring back former 98 Degrees member Nick Lachey as the host when it returns for a fourth season after almost getting axed by NBC.
Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men and Ben Folds also return as the judges, with Jewel Kilcher rounding up the panel. The pop/country singer is tapped to replace exiting judge Sara Bareilles.
"There are very few musical artists as accomplished and talented as Jewel," says Paul Telegdy, NBC's president of alternative programming. "Her addition to 'The Sing-Off' judges panel, along with our stellar team of Shawn Stockman and Ben Folds, raises the showmanship of the series up another notch."
"The Voice" executive producer Mark Burnett will take charge of the new installment. He chimes in on Jewel's casting, "I am so thrilled to welcome Jewel to our expert musical panel. Jewel is one of America's greatest singer songwriters and is an amazing storyteller. 'The Sing-Off' is sure to be its best [season] yet."
The "Sing-Off" gig comes after Jewel starred in Lifetime's June Carter Cash biopic, "Ring of Fire". She previously appeared a guest mentor on NBC's hit reality show "The Voice".
NBC put "The Sing-Off" in the bubble for more than a year after the third season wrapped up in November 2011 to modest ratings. The network later delivered the good news in March this year by announcing a fourth season pick-up for the a cappella competition series. The new season is scheduled to premiere in December.
