First Look at Benicio Del Toro as Pablo Escobar in 'Paradise Lost'
Movie

Del Toro stars alongside 'Hunger Games' actor Josh Hutcherson in the Colombia-set drama, directed and penned by Andrea Di Stefano.

AceShowbiz - How Benicio Del Toro looks like as the notorious Pablo Escobar in "Paradise Lost (2014)" is teased in an image released by Pathe International. The Puerto Rican actor, whose role as Javier Rodriguez in 2000's "Traffic" helped him win an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA award, indeed makes a convincing drug lord with his overall look.

The movie is not really a biopic as it centers on a young surfer named Nick who thinks that all his dreams have come true when he goes to visit his brother in Columbia. Against an idyllic backdrop of blue lagoons and white beaches he falls madly in love with a beautiful Colombian girl called Maria. It all seems perfect until he meets her uncle, one Pablo Escobar.

Taking on the role of Nick is Josh Hutcherson, who will next be seen in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" and has been secured for its follow-ups as well. Claudia Traisac is introduced as the lovely Maria. Brady Corbet, the co-star of Chloe Moretz and Kristen Stewart in upcoming "Sils Maria", is on board for a supporting role.

Andrea Di Stefano, who starred in "Eat, Pray, Love" and most recently "Life of Pi", serves as director and scribe for "Paradise Lost".

No U.S. release date has been set yet.
