The 'Heart Attack' singer lends her vocals to 'Heart by Heart', one of the 12 tracks featured in the theme song compilation for the Lily Collins-starring movie.

AceShowbiz - After her latest hit song "Heart Attack", pop rock songstress Demi Lovato does another "heart"-filled song, not for her next album but rather for the soundtrack of the forthcoming fantasy-action film "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones". The 20-year-old singer leads other artists featured in the 12-track compilation album.

Other popular female artists lending their star power to the list of collaborators are British dance-pop star Jessie J who contributes track "Magnetic" and pop singer/acoustic guitarist Colbie Caillat who delivers haunting ballad "When the Darkness Comes" which she co-wrote with producer David Hodges.

The songs in the album are also featured within the movie itself. A pivotal scene in the movie is scored by Russian-German electronic music producer and DJ Zedd with the new instrumental track "Into The Lair" and punk rock band AFI's remix of their new track "17 Crimes" is used for the on-screen action scenes.

The soundtrack album of "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" will debut a day before the movie hits theatres on August 21. Based on the first book in the young adult novel series by author Cassandra Clare, the film stars Lily Collins as central character Clary Fray who discovers she is a Shadowhunter, a human with angelic qualities. She's supported by love interest and fellow Shadowhunter Jace played by Jamie Campbell Bower on their quest to trace her missing mother portrayed by Lena Headey.
