After 'As I Lay Dying', Franco is interested in adapting 'The Sound and the Fury' with the 'Mad Men' actor as his co-star.

AceShowbiz - James Franco seems to be a huge fan of William Faulkner. After writing, directing and starring in "As I Lay Dying", the Harry Osborn depicter in "Spider-Man 3" is eyeing a feature adaptation of Faulkner's fourth novel "The Sound and the Fury" as his next project, and even aims to start shooting in fall.
According to a report from L.A. Times, Oscar-nominated Franco will reunite with "As I Lay Dying" co-writer Matt Rager to write the movie, which will be funded independently. It is revealed that the 35-year-old actor hopes to act opposite "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm, who is expected to play the family patriarch, Mr. Compson.
Franco additionally has two other names he would like to team up with in the film. His brother Dave Franco, best known for starring in "21 Jump Street", is hoped to take on the role of the suicidal Quentin Compson. "This Is the End" co-star Danny McBride is likely secured for the project as well.
Recently, "Spring Breakers" star Franco bowed out of "The Garden of Last Days", the Gerard Butler-produced adaptation of Andre Dubus III's book, due to "creative differences" as reported by Deadline.
He will now focus on "Everything Will Be Fine", in which he stars for director Wim Wenders, and the production of three movies based on his short-story collection "Palo Alto".
