Associated Television International, which produces 'Marie', plans to offer the show to local stations in syndication for a 2014 launch.

AceShowbiz - "Marie" has lost its home as Hallmark Channel announces that it has dropped the Marie Osmond-hosted talk show after only one season. "With so many talk show offerings in the [daytime], particularly in broadcast syndication, Hallmark Channel has decided not to greenlight a second season of its Critics Choice Award nominated talk show, Marie, starring Marie Osmond," the network says in a statement to confirm the news.

"We are extremely grateful to Marie Osmond, whose immense talent and dedication to excellence is unmatched in entertainment. Marie is a consummate professional and outstanding human being in every way possible. We have enjoyed working with her on the talk show and know her passion to create an offering of such high quality will find great success in syndication."

Hallmark also reasons that it needs to change direction with its programming, stating, "As the network examined and explored its work in daytime, we determined that the best direction for this daypart is to offer quintessential lifestyle service shows that inform and entertain our viewers with how-to, tips and ideas for living their best lives. We also find these types of shows best serve today's demand for digital video."

"Marie" premiered on October 1, 2012 as a replacement for Martha Stewart's talk show and reportedly failed to catch the attention of its targeted demo, which is females ages 25 to 54.

The cancellation, however, doesn't necessarily mean the end of the daytime talk show. Associated Television International, which produces the show, plans a syndication launch for the series in fall 2014.

Jim Romanovich, ATI's president of worldwide entertainment, says, "We always believed that in order for the Marie Osmond talk show to flourish and resonate with viewers across the nation, we would embark on a multiplatform strategy incorporating broadcast, cable and digital opportunities."
