The Sarah Palin depicter on HBO's 'Game Change' is courted for District 13 leader Alma Coin role in two-part adaptation of Suzanne Collins' 'Mockingjay'.

AceShowbiz - Julianne Moore is approached to nab a villain role in two final movies in "The Hunger Games" franchise. Deadline, which broke the news first, learns that the actress, whose performance in "The Kids Are All Right" earned her a Golden Globe nomination, is in early talks to portray District 13 leader Alma Coin in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1" and its follow-up.
In the same-title Suzanne Collins novel, the character is a manipulative politician who clashes with Katniss, an anti-tyrannical Capitol regime rebel, as her methods and motivations draw suspicion. If Moore eventually comes aboard, she will join cast which already includes returning stars, such as Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Philip Seymour Hoffman, who will make first appearance in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire".
Director Francis Lawrence is already secured to continue working on the upcoming two sequels, with Danny Strong set to provide him with the script. Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik will serve as producers for Lionsgate' both projects, which will be released in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
Recently starring in "The English Teacher", Moore will next be seen in Joseph Gordon-Levitt's directorial debut "Don Jon", due out on September 27.
