The fiance of Kristen Bell explains that he can't take the title 'in good conscience' because he's no longer vegan since six months ago.

AceShowbiz - Dax Shepard was named the sexiest vegetarian celebrities along with his fiancee Kristen Bell, but he was forced to turn the title down. "I'm really flattered to be named 'Sexiest Vegetarian' with @IMKristenBell, but sadly I can't accept in good conscience because I eat chicken," he explained on Twitter.
The hunky actor became a vegetarian after watching the documentary "Forks Over Knives" a year ago. "I sleep 15 percent better. My allergies are at least 15 percent better. I have fewer body aches. My skin looks better. I'm never starving, and I never need to ride the couch feeling completely full and disgusting," he said last fall.
In his recent tweet, the "Parenthood" star explained his change of diet, "I was vegan for a year, but that ended 6 months ago. I aspire to be more like @IMKristenBell, but I'm not there yet."
PETA was very understanding of Shepard's explanation. "We're delighted to recognize Kristen Bell as our Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity," the animal rights group said in a statement. "She sets a wonderful example of kindness to animals and healthy living to her countless fans, including Dax!"
"We love Dax, and we're glad to read that he's aspiring to be more like Kristen. We are here to help with recipes and our vegetarian starter kit, and we'll be sending the couple a delicious gift basket of Beyond Meat and Gardein veggie chicken products."
Shepard won the sexiest title over the likes of Jared Leto, Paul McCartney and Travis Barker, while Bell pushed aside Alyssa Milano, Anne Hathaway, Carrie Underwood and Jessica Chastain.
Besides campaigning against animal cruelty, Shepard and Bell are avid supporters for LGBT community over marriage equality. The couple who has a daughter together once swore not to get married before gay marriage was legalized in California.
After the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, Bell proposed to her fiance, "@daxshepard1 will you marry me? Xo #marriageequality #loveislove," to which he replied with the same sentiment, "DOMA is dead. Prop 8 is dead. Now let's bring my big, gay marriage to @IMKristenBell to Life!!!!"
