The 'Last Resort' alum will portray a handsome sports agent in the HBO pilot that explores human sexuality and relationships.

AceShowbiz - Ryan Murphy's provocative pilot "Open" has cast another actor in a lead role. Scott Speedman has been tapped to portray Jonathan, a handsome sports marketing executive, in the drama that is being developed for HBO.

Penned by Murphy and "Dexter" co-executive producer Lauren Gussis, "Open" is dubbed a modern, provocative exploration of human sexuality and relationships. The story revolves around five characters, including a thirtysomething married couple, the husband's male co-worker and a fortysomething female yoga professional.

Speedman joins "American Beauty" and "The Hunger Games" actor Wes Bentley, who has been earlier cast as the handsome but arrogant Evan Foster. He's described as a blowhard who loves espousing his theories on human sexuality.

Best known for his role as Ben Covington on 1990s' drama series "Felicity" and Lycan-Vampire hybrid Michael Corvin in "Underworld" films, 37-year-old Canadian actor Speedman recently starred on ABC's short-lived drama "Last Resort". His other movie credits include "Barney's Version" and "The Vow".
