QVC decides 'to take a pause' in its relationship with the cook, but hints that it doesn't end their association for good.

AceShowbiz - QVC is the latest company to cut ties with Paula Deen amidst the backlash she's been receiving over her alleged use of N-word. After stating earlier this week that it's reviewing its business relationship with the beleaguered cook, the network has now decided to drop her, at least for the time being.
In a lengthy statement released on early Friday, June 28, QVC says it's "troubled by what Paula has acknowledged saying" and "by the allegations against her." It adds, "We have talked with Paula and her team extensively over the last several days, and together we have considered what is best for our customers, for Paula, and for QVC. For now, we have decided to take a pause."
"Paula won't be appearing on any upcoming broadcasts and we will phase out her product assortment on our online sales channels over the next few months. We all think it's important, at this moment, for Paula to concentrate on responding to the allegations against her and on her path forward," the network's President & CEO Mike George continues explaining in the "letter."
Hinting that the termination may be temporary, George adds, "Some of you may wonder whether this is a 'forever' decision - whether we are simply ending our association with Paula. We don't think that's how relationships work. People deserve second chances. And we always strive to do the right thing."
In an accompanying letter, Deen responds to the decision, "I want to let you know how much I value my relationship with all of you and with QVC... I also appreciate the caring way that QVC has interacted with me over the past week. As you know, I have some important things to work on right now, both personally and professionally. And so we've agreed that it's best for me to step back from QVC and focus on setting things right."
She concludes her statement with an apology, "I am truly sorry and assure you I will work hard to earn your forgiveness."
Deen, the former host of "Paula's Best Dishes", is currently in hot water after she admitted to using racial slurs in the past. Food Network, Smithfield Foods, Walmart, Caesars Entertainment Corporation, Target and Home Depot have announced that they dumped her or her branded products. However, her book sales soar since the last few days.
